Jeep Center Cap Sizes — 63–64 mm and the 55 mm Versions
Jeep caps sort into two families, and ordering across them is a guaranteed miss. Here's the split.
The common one: 63–64 mm (1LB77 family)
Many 2005-and-newer Grand Cherokee, Wrangler and Compass wheels take a cap measuring 63–64 mm OD with about a 2.5 in clip ID — the family sold under the OEM 1LB77 part series. It's the default Jeep cap of the modern era, which is exactly why people assume it's the only one.
The smaller one: 55 mm versions
The Jeep Liberty and older Grand Cherokees run a 55 mm OD version. Nine millimetres smaller is not a rounding error — a 55 mm cap in a 63 mm wheel falls out, and a 63 mm cap in a 55 mm wheel never seats. If your Jeep is a Liberty or an early Grand Cherokee, expect the small cap and confirm by measuring.
Don't bring the bore into it
Jeep's 5×127 wheels carry a 71.5–71.6 mm hub center bore. That's the wheel-centering spec, not a cap size — neither Jeep cap family is anywhere near it. (Full explainer: Center Bore vs Center Cap Diameter.)
