Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra Center Cap Size — the 83 mm OEM Caps
If you own a 2014–2024 GM 1500 truck or full-size SUV, the center cap you're most likely shopping for is the 83 mm (3.25 in) OD cap — the one sold under OEM part numbers 22837060 and 20942002. It covers a big family: Chevrolet Silverado and Suburban, GMC Sierra and Yukon, and the Tahoe — and the Cadillac Escalade shares this same 83 mm GM truck cap family.
Why one cap covers so many trucks
GM built these trucks on shared wheel programs, so the same cap tooling serves the Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban and Escalade. That's good news for availability — this is one of the easiest OEM caps to find — but it doesn't make the size a guarantee. Wheel option and trim still matter, and aftermarket wheels change everything.
The number that is NOT your cap size: 78.1 mm
Search these trucks and you'll keep meeting 78.1 mm. That's the hub center bore of the 1999+ Silverado/Sierra 1500 (6×139.7 bolt pattern) — the hole that centers the wheel on the hub. It is not the cap diameter, and a cap ordered at 78.1 mm will not fit a wheel that takes the 83 mm cap. The two numbers describe different parts of the same wheel. Confirm before you order
- Pop one cap and read the back — a genuine cap carries its molded part number. 22837060 or 20942002 means you're in the 83 mm family.
- Caliper the face: you should see about 83 mm across the widest point.
- Measure across the clip tips on the back — the clip ID, not the face, is what actually locks the cap in.
